I have a 1989 jcm 800 2204 (about the last year I think so it's a horizontal input board mounted pot amp).
I never had any issues with it until I recently broke it out. It simply has nearly no bottom end and it breaks up with a nasty gain.. still loud, just not a good loud. Do you recommend I try a new pre amp tube?... ot 3?

I did replace one pre-amp tube. The amp still sounds loose and trebly. Loud as hell but just bright. Does anyone think this may be a power tube issue?
